Every production starts with a number. 💯 And learning how to align that number with the reality of your work is a skill that is just as important as knowing how to actually shoot and edit. 🧑‍💻

Come to Set with Me: A real time look into my "day job" as I take you on set with me for a full production day 📹 Watch HERE

Pre-production isn’t free time: it requires a level of planning, scheduling, and coordination that deserves to be valued. 🗓 Production itself involves your time on set and the cost of your gear.🎥 Post-production requires not just editing, but also a clear boundary on revisions so the project doesn’t stretch endlessly. ⏳ And if a client wants full ownership of the content, that shifts the value even further.

A simple way to check yourself is to list out each stage of the project before sharing a number.📝 Ask: how many hours will pre-production take, what equipment will be used, how long will editing and revisions realistically require, and what usage rights are they asking for? When you build the budget from the ground up, you can explain it clearly and confidently. 💵

The goal isn’t to inflate costs, it’s to protect the work that goes into the project, from ideation to execution, and allows for clear expectations. When you approach budgets this way, you’re not just charging for a video. When you charge for the process, not just the product, you protect both your work and your worth. 🫡

Question of the Week:

Would you consider shooting a couple of videos with your osmo pocket 3? To show us how you can get great creative shots and put together an awesome video with it.Submitted by: Charlie

From Adrian 💬

Absolutely! It's actually one of my favorites. I’ve always believed the best camera is the one that’s most convenient and the one you feel comfortable using. That’s what the Osmo Pocket 3 gives me. The quality is amazing, it literally fits in my pocket, and because of its size I don’t feel out of place filming in spots where pulling out a bigger camera might feel crazy. It lets me stay shooting anywhere without feeling self concious about it.

I really can't believe how much our community has grown. It's so surreal. 🥹 Thank y'all for being real ones, tuning in every week and for being so active in the . And to all the new readers that have joined APCC recently, welcome — it’s so sick to have you here! 🙏

I've been working on something really freaking huge behind the scenes and you will have the exclusive first look when it finally launches! 👀 So keep an eye out for that because trust me, it's gonna be dope and I'm hype to hear what y'all think when it's finally out there in the open. That's all for this week and as always, happy creating! ✌️
