The MOST IMPORTANT reason why you should create art

and the only thing that should determine your value as a creator

Welcome to APCC, a community for creatives and by creatives, to learn, connect and share.

APCC introduces its brand new component for community building – a biweekly newsletter developed by founder and fellow creative, Adrian Per. Here you can find detailed breakdowns of his videos, community highlights, and more.

Welcome to the club!

We Are Golden ✨That’s a wrap on this year’s AAPI month galleries! I premiered my very first short film in both LA and NYC and despite doing 8 of these galleries now, I still think this has been the most special one by far. Every exhibit prior to this showcased solely my work for the culture, but this year I knew that I wanted it to be bigger than just me and my vision, but instead a collaborative experience for creative artists from both coasts of the nation.

Special shout out to @marilynhue, @sowonlv, @tdangy, @samjsalvador, @kimcrooz, and @ethan.uncurated for being part of this project. I will always use my platform to uplift my community but I think it’s even doper that I get to introduce people whose art inspires me to all of y’all. And I will forever be grateful for every single one of you who showed out, showed support, watched the journey.

Trust me, I know that in the beginning, it’s hard not to let the numbers determine the value of your art. But first things first, if you’re gonna do art – do art because you love it. Because you’re proud of what you put out there. Consistency breeds success, yes, but you have to be the first person who sees the value in your art before anyone, or any machine, does.

Have a question about cameras/editing/technical skills? Ask Adrian here! Every week, he will pick out one question to answer in depth on the following week’s newsletter.

As AAPI month comes to a close, I want to emphasize that pushing the needle forward for the culture isn’t just restricted to one month of the year. It’s a 365, non-stop mission to keep doing what we do, not just for us in this generation but for every single one after.

The next newsletter, we’re gonna talk about the importance of collaborating with other creators and if you weren’t able to see the live premiere of the short film, I’m dropping it online on June 9th so definitely keep an eye out for all of that coming up.

As always y’all, happy creating and I’ll catch you next time. —AP
