Welcome to the AP Creative Community Newsletter!
Every other week, I feature creators from the community through our Creator Spotlight. 🙌 Join the community and submit your work through the Discord link here for a chance to be featured! I highlight one film, one photograph, and one video postcard. 📸 This Creator Spotlight is here to bring more exposure to creators, encourage others to tap into their talents, and build a community of creatives.🗺 When I’m not highlighting creators, I share actionable tips, honest answers, and valuable insights to help you on your creative journey.
New issues hit your inbox every Sunday. Glad you’re here. 🤝
The stand out submissions for this week have truly blown me out of the water as they showed me how important it is to toy around with new features 💥 whether it's adding in a score to your short film or implementing color theory. 🎨 I'm always constantly learning from all of y'all and your ways of viewing the world so thank you for submitting! 🙏
Here are this week's Creator Spotlights…

"Out of Sync" by @bektih 🎥 Congrats on your award, that's so sick! 🥇 Clearly so well deserved and immediately within the first few minutes I can tell you were thoughtful about the score. It added a lot to the sound design and feeling of what you're conveying. 🔊 Not much to critique about the writing, it felt genuine and real to what would happen in this exact scenario! 🫡
But if there's one thing I'd say is that I would have loved to feel the tension a little bit more in the initial meet up with Elliot. In that post-silence, not knowing what to say to each other, maybe a little more small talk before diving into asking about whether he thinks about the relationship. Other than that, phenomenal job. 👏

“Selective Color” by @mogz88 🎨 Yeah this is a killer photo set! 😮💨 We don't talk enough about the importance of color theory in helping convey a theme or a message in a photograph. 📸 But you absolutely understood the assignment and how to use color to draw a subject's eye to the visual hook. 💪

Block Island by @heydani8 ⛵️ Love the simplicity of this video postcard and the calm it conveys. 😌 I feel like this is the perfect example of how you can look at even the most mundane things, like a boat on the water, with a cinematic eye and it being viewed as something beautiful. 🙌

You all have been stepping up your game week after week and it shows! 🏆 It's so awesome to see what parts of cinematography you guys having been toying around with and learning from all of you. 🌎 I'll see you all next week and as always, happy creating.✌️
